The Temple Two Saturdays in a Row

Hello Everyone. I hope you are all doing well and had a fantastic Christmas. I wanted to share with you a couple of spiritual experiences Bruce and I had recently.

In Nov. of 2007 Becca, Jesse's wife, was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On Dec. 20th she went to the Temple to take out her Endowments. Following that their family was sealed for Time and all Eternity. We traveled to St. Louis to witness the occasion. During the sealing the mothers sit by their children. Becca's parents are not members of the church so they were not there. She asked me to sit by her as her mother. I was shocked and honored. As Jesse and Becca knelt across from each other Becca glowed with the spirit. Then when they brought in their two year old and 7 mth old the spirit in the room grew even stronger. The boys looked like angels in their white clothes. The whole time the sealer was talking Elijah did not take his eyes off of him. I don't know how much he understood, but it was as if you could tell that he recognized the importance of what was happening. We are so happy for all of them.

On the 21st Bruce came out of early meetings at church and asked if we had any plans on the 27th and if it would be ok for him to go with the youth to the temple. We didn't have anything on the calendar so I said sure. After church I came up on a conversation that Julie and Bruce were having. Julie is my best friend and the Young Women's president. She was having difficulty finding a sister to go with the girls. She is 8 mths pregnant and isn't able to make the trip herself. I told her if she would keep some of our children I would go. She kept Aurora and Logan and Joy and Patience spent the night with friends from school.

I had never had the opportunity to go with the youth before. Bruce has gone several times and has commented on how reverent the youth act when in the temple. It was a choice experience for me. I was able to stay in the font area the whole time. I directed traffic you can say. One of the counselors to the Temple President and the Baptistery director both spoke to us and told us that if we opened our hearts and our minds to the spirit we would be able to feel the joy of those being baptized. I truly did. Especially when the name listed was only a last name, it was like the person was saying, thank you for finding me, thanking for doing this even though you don't have my full name. I am so glad I was able to be there. It was something I will never forget.

As we go into this new year I hope we all find Joy in the Journey.

Stuck

You are probably all familiar with the movie, A Christmas Story. Well, last night we had some ice and sleet. There was no school today. Our three girls decided to go outside for a while. After about 15 minutes, Aurora came running in with blood running down her chin. I thought she had bit her tongue, but no. She had tried for herself the classic scene from A Christmas Story.

She had stuck her tongue to the basketball post. She lost a bit of skin off the end of her tongue and it bled for an hour. Patience also did it, but did not loose very much skin. Kids sure do the darndest things.

I imagine that her taste buds will be a little off for a few days, but no worse for the wear.

I hope this finds everyone doing well.
